What a difference 180º makes. These two photos were taken at about 8:30 last night, the first toward the west, the second toward the east. They were taken ten minutes apart.

Truly incredible. Beautiful photographs. I don’t know if there is anything that I enjoy more than clouds.

I also love clouds, for many different reasons. It’s at this time of year here that we really get a show of clouds, usually in the late afternoon to evening.

Now that’s a dramatic sky Terry, hard to believe you can get that much of change in color and mood in that short of time and position, thats what I love about photographing the natural world. Thanks for sharing that’s really neat.

Late summer and late afternoon around here can be dramatic. Another reason why I spend as much time outside as I possibly can.

My that is really lovely. We’ve been cloud watching as well – last night it was with my mom. Thanks for sharing these.

In the first set of clouds I see faceless angst…but, it’s wearing a baseball cap.
In the second photo I only see a chipmunk applauding a Christmas tree. I have no idea what the tree must have done to deserve the accolades.
Beautiful photos, by the way.

aullori,
Yes, it’s the prime time for cloud watching. I’ll be doing a lot of that, all the while hoping there will be a little rain in there somewhere.

Pinhole,
I think the cap softens the whole scene, don’t you?
I’m never surprised to see a chipmunk around here, but although they don’t usually applaud, one’s never sure just what they will do.

thisiswhyimhot,
Thanks for the kind words. I’ve been photographing the things I love to see in the part of the country that I love to live in. I’m always happy when someone else likes it too! There’s a very beautiful world out there beyond the cities!
