Munson Creek
I don’t know what’s more difficult, negotiating the snow and ice in the winter to get down to the creek or the lush foliage in the summer. I think I like the summer challenge better.
This isn’t exactly my favorite photo but it’s the only one I kept out of about 20 I shot this evening. Deep in the canyon where even the light couldn’t penetrate, it turned out that a slight whisper of a breeze could. It seemed like every time the shutter clicked for a 2 second exposure, those leaves that hang out over the water shoot would do a wild dance. It was an exercise in patience. I kept this photo because I rather liked the colors.

That’s what I wasn’t too happy about. It would seem that a shorter exposure time might have been better, but that didn’t turn out well.

Another great shot! Water is very hard to photograph, and especially waterfalls to make them look as they do when viewing them in person. You’ve done a magnificent job here. There should be no dissatisfaction with this capture.
The lighting, setting, colors, composition and presentation are all just plain perfect.

Has an Amazon feel to it. At least the light was low enough to allow for your 2 second shutter.

Yes, the light was so low I had to remove my polarizer to even get an exposure. Although there was no direct sunlight there, the light intensity did vary quite a bit. It’s not exactly a jungle, but there is an abundance of plant life in the canyon.

Thanks! As you go up this stream there are miles of similar settings before the stream becomes a trickle, then disappears into the mountainside.

I really like the liquid translucent flow of the stream contrasted against the deep rich colors. Beautiful capture.

The ecology of a cascading stream is always interesting. The mists do coat the rocks and allow the mosses to flourish. There would be a lot to examine for a trained botanist.

Very lush. I like the flowing look of the water. Even if the color wasn’t what you intended, the movement is so vivid.

The long exposure does let one see what the water is doing and sometimes there are surprises in that. It’s always fascinating to me.
