As all mountain springs do, this one attracts lots of birds, so there’s a lot to listen to besides the soft sound of the water. The slope is very steep below the trail and you can hear the little stream cascade down there too.
This is one of the greener places, but the whole north slope of those mountains a very green. Also heavily forested and very steep, the kind of country that we need so much for our watershed.
Those greens, so lush and beautiful, looks like the rain forest.

It’s located on the north slope of the mountains where the forest is heavy and it stays pretty cool. There is cold water there all summer.

It’s just off the trail and with the thick vegetation, can easily be missed. I make a point of stopping when I hike that trail.

How very beautiful! I love the mossy rocks. I definitely could sit for a good long while and just listen.
