Yes, I guess the late spring didn’t slow these guys down. Those look like pretty young gosling though, and today is the first time I’ve seen them.

I can’t believe how much earlier you have goslings than we do! I keep holding out hope that someday spring will head our way. We have a few little snow showers today!
On another note: Do you have any idea what happen to the Alaska Outdoor blog? Its gone? It is a little concerning and I miss it.

I think these guys are one of my favorite parts of spring up here. Haven’t seen any goslings yet, though – you’re lucky.

I thought the goslings were a little late this year here, but I’ve seen nesting behavior from them for some time now. We had spring over the weekend, but this week will be cooler than normal again.
I had the Alaska Outdoor blog in my blog surfer option, and just now when I clicked on it a message came up that it was deleted by its author with no other explanation. I miss it also.

I also look forward to seeing them raise their big families. There is a year around population of them here, but they are extra special in the spring.

Around here, the populations are so big that they are pouring chemicals on the eggs so that they are to soft and do not hatch. It is still very hopeful to see these younglings.

I love this! (I’ve secretly looked it over about three times!) Great shots… it makes me think I need to go down to lake and see what the geese are up too. However, it’s too windy today. I guess waterfowl get nervous in the wind.

I sure hate to see them doing that, and it probably won’t keep the numbers there down anyway on a bird that’s migratory for the most part.

It’s about the time for eggs hatching, although these seem to be earlier than most. I saw lots today that didn’t have new babies yet.
