  2. Thanks, silken! This is a 4 mile drive and a 3 mile hike from my house. How many people today were able to sit and eat lunch in a spot like this in the company of 20 Bighorns?

  3. I sat and had lunch with 20 blowhards. Does that count?

    Great perspective.

  4. I’d say you should get partial credit for getting the number right.

  5. Damn me for speed reading. I just spent five minutes looking for bighorns before I re-read and saw the word “habitat” in between the word “sheep” and the word “in.”
I agree with silken, BTW. I particularly like the angles formed by the slopes of the mountainsides.

  6. And damn me for speed-typing – #5 is me. Maybe I just need to go back to bed.

  7. When I took the picture there were 20 below me to the left, but I couldn’t get them to pose for me. One 3/4 curl ram.

  8. Lovely, even without the bighorns. Maybe next time.

  12. The country is breathtaking. My daughter has friends in Montana. They love it. Your photos are extremely good. You capture the feeling of the ‘big country’. I bet it is a great place to hike, but I’d want my dogs along.

  13. Karen,

Yes, it is really beautiful, and there are so many great places to hike it’s impossible to visit them all. You would love it, and your dogs would too! I did not take my dog along though when I was in Grizzly country.

    Thanks for visiting!

  15. It sure is beautiful!. Maybe I appreciate it so much because I was born here and then went away for many years. During those years away, it became even more precious.
