Wildflowers are lovely, but there’s not a thing wrong with a beautiful crocus. I especially like the way part of the flower is slightly out of focus. It seems to emphasize the flower’s emergence, its coming into bloom. What a nice image with which to start the day!
You got that beauty before I did! No sign of them here yet. Spring is really slow coming this year. Thanks for adding a bit of color to my world today…it’s pretty drab outside my window. 😦
I had never seen Crocus before moving to SLC…and then started looking forward to them in late winter, as I knew what it meant when they finally arrived….and now? Well, the Hedgehog cacti are blooming their brilliant red flowers….in a different land entirely.

The Crocus has its very own place at the beginning of spring, and it’s one of my favorites.

I’m still waiting to see a crocus. They’ve just begun showing themselves as shoots breaking through the crust.

A couple of sunny days after the rains and they popped right up a few days ago. I just checked my archives, and they are almost exactly on time!

A Crocus really does provide that early spring color, doesn’t it!

You’re ahead of us! The ground is bare, but frozen, and nary a green thing is showing yet.

These are just about normal for here. You were really hit by winter this year.

There are few things that can compare with the Sonoran Desert in spring.
