Painful. Worst part is that we just had a half foot of beautiful snow and I want to be out hiking in it! I’m sure you know what that’s about!
Scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. That will start the process.

I love it when the clouds move dramatically. We often get that in the estuary here. You have a similar effect in the valleys there.

There is a reverence for clouds. Without them life on Earth would be much different, if there would be any at all. At the same time they have so much beauty.

I find the changing shapes fascinating, the effect they have on the light, and the fact that they remind us of how much we need them.

I remember too how my Dad would forecast short-term weather from the clouds, and he was usually right.

I’d like to be able to get up above the clouds like that, but I’m sure it’s quite a hike.

To get to where that photo was taken is a hike of only about a mile and a half, with an altitude gain of about 1000 feet. Taken slowly, a very pleasant hike!

A wonderful view. I got curious, and went looking. The highest point in Texas is Guadalupe Peak in the Davis Mountains – at 8,749 feet. Our highest is one of your medium-high! I’m am glad to hear you’re starting the process with the MRI tomorrow. I hope all goes well.

I didn’t realize there was a mountain that tall in Texas. We do have a few very tall ones but those near where I live are only in the 7000 foot range. What makes them stand out is that the valleys between them are only around 2400 feet and the mountainsides are very steep. I’m afraid that I am no longer able to climb up the very tall ones.

You get a totally different view of clouds up where you are … what a beautiful sight. I hear a blizzard is on its way to you … hope you are tucked in warm at home.

We didn’t get a blizzard, but we did get 6 to 8 inches of snow during the night. It was so pretty this morning and the snow brought much warmer temperatures, It’s now a beautiful winter spell!
Yes, it’s nice to be in a warm home! The first evening of the sub-zero period we went through there was a power outage. It was so pleasant to sit by the fire not having to worry about when the power would be back on!

I don’t get that chance too often and I take a lot of photos when I do. On a day like that you can’t see out of the valley, so you don’t know what it’s like from the peaks. I’ve had to just guess and sometimes spend a lot of time hiking just to stay in the clouds and often get rained on as well. When you guess right it’s worth all of the effort.

They do look like the ocean, i often think that when driving home and seeing them in the distance, close to the horizon. What a drag that you have to wait til after 1/1 to have your procedure. I think you said that, didn’t you?

The medical procedure hasn’t been scheduled yet, but that was a guess. I had an MRI yesterday so that will give the Dr. something to look at. I would love to have the procedure done tomorrow! The Dr. is a resident at a hospital about 80 miles from here and he also does that type of thing at the local hospital. There are few competent Dr’s around here and they are pretty well booked up!
