    • We are expecting more in the next few days. We will have a cold air mass from Canada in place then and a weather front from the Pacific is supposed to arrive along with it providing some moisture. I think this one is too far north to hit your area though. I hope we do get more snow, because when the very cold air hits often the sky will be crystal clear and deep blue, making a beautiful contrast to the snow.

  4. Hi Montucky, I am so glad you took that stroll and the pictures! Beautiful! We have about 2 weeks before we’ll get our first dusting of the white stuff. Have a fun-filled Friday. Enjoy that snow!

    • This is a rather late start for here. There is plenty at the high elevations though. Have a great weekend!

    • There sure is. I especially enjoy seeing all of the animal tracks and seeing who all visited during the night.

  9. I sure couldn’t. This is the third blog in a row I have been on with new snow. It is beautiful on the trees and even on the road, if you are walking. I like both these shots.

    • From the weather reports I’ve seen there will be large parts of the states that have winter scenes! The cold spell we are expecting is supposed to move farther east and south after it cools us off.

    • That snow melted later in the day, but it was replaced today by more which will be here for awhile. Pretty, but it sure made the roads a mess!

    • Your snow photos were beautiful! I hope to get some more too during the next week. We had a couple of inches today, but the light wasn’t good for photography. Perhaps it will settle down in the next few days.

  14. Lovely images… cold is NOT my thing but I do love the snow (Red Lodge is getting a ton of it, apparently, making for a good base on the mountain and MAYBE a good ski season there)

    • I think Red Lodge is very cold tonight! They are in the middle of the Arctic air that’s coming in here now. Yes, they should have a good year at the ski area. Lookout Pass ski area near here opened this weekend too. I hope we will have a great snow year!

    • Thanks Robin. I’m looking forward to trying for a few shots tomorrow. We will have nearly a foot of new snow on the ground, perhaps with drifts and it will be around zero.
