That is a Forest Service access road now. Many years ago there was a mine up there. The road is now closed to motor vehicles just past where the photo was taken unless there is an emergency.
I was especially pleased to see these because last year we had hardly any aspen colors at all due to the early deep freeze that we had. Maybe things are getting back to normal.
Yowzers – those bright yellow leaves just look like flames of sunshine! Lovely!

It’s great! This road is now closed for the winter because of the snow level. Still hikeable for awhile though.
