I must say, I am enjoying your Spring flowers….all the more because they are wild and not cultivated like I mainly see.

Many or perhaps most of these cannot be domesticated and that’s part of the fun pf photographing them. Besides, they grow in such wonderful surroundings. To me, this photo was well worth the two mile hike to get to it

Thanks Reed. It had just a small beam of sunshine on it that had filtered down through the trees. I just had to try for a photo of that!

I’d say that two-mile hike was well worth it. It’s funny — I’ve never kept journals before, but I’m beginning now to write down where and when I see things, so I can remember when the next spring or fall rolls around. And the more I look, the more I see. It’s just not possible to keep them all straight. This coming weekend, I’m going to drive for an hour to a refuge, for another look at a yellow flower that I didn’t photograph well enough to identify, and didn’t make notes on. We do get a little crazy about these things, don’t we?

We do! It’s easy to get that way. I seem to have an excellent memory for the places in which I see wildflowers, but I also make notes on some of the photos and refer to them quite often.
