They almost look like they’re being extruded from a big, cloud-making machine. I love the variety in clouds, and their constant change. Being able to watch them is one of the great advantages of outside work!
The mountains southwest of our valley are over 7,000 feet, the valley is only a few miles wide and there are tall mountains again on the other side. Weather can do some strange things with that and they are usually pretty interesting. I love those gentle winds though, especially in winter when they are so refreshing!
There is always something beautiful to experience in nature. As you said, if it’s not colour, it’s pattern…or shapes, textures, sounds and scents. Beautiful shot, Terry.
There are parts of the western US where it just seems like you stand a bit closer to the sky, that if you just reached up you could touch those clouds…Your photo is so amazing.
Amazing.
Clouds are something I’ve developed a real appreciation for since I’ve been home so much. I could watch them all day (now I have an uninterrupted view from my lounge window).

The clouds were coming exactly from the direction of the prevailing winds, but I had not seen them that way before.

I think that’s why Montana is called the “Big Sky” state.

We could do so many things that are not nearly as satisfying as cloud watching!

So true. Having a camera on your person also helps to see things like that.

She does indeed. I feel sad though for all of those who don’t seem to see and enjoy those things.

Yes, I agree. I don’t understand how someone could not want to see the beauty that I see every day. It’s a shame.

So often I see a spectacular display of nature’s beauty and understand that it would change someone’s life, were they there to see and appreciate it.

Interesting how you caught the dark foliage sweeping up at the right to run parallel to one of the cloud banks.

That was just a serendipity. The clouds ran right up the narrow valley and parallel to the trees.
