What a beautiful landscape, and a very nice composed photo. I wonder how it is to live surounded by such an amazing nature, everything looks so peaceful. Is it ever too quiet? (I love peacefulness.)

I have lived in many different places, but have found beauty in each of them, although different. I love the quiet here, especially when in the high forests. The sounds there are softer and tell different stories than the ones in the city.

I don ‘t mind red and green as Christmas colors, but this is a palette that’s both beautiful and comfortable. I could look at this far longer than the time I have available for looking this morning!

I love the scenes that are entirely natural. This scene is not really remote, just a small piece of National Forest land that hardly anyone ever visits. By the lack of tracks around, probably no else saw this scene, which gives me a reason to show it I suppose.

The river had many pretty scenes that day. I hiked a few miles along the river bottom, got soaking wet from the brush, broke through the ice crossing a beaver dam and enjoyed all of the decorations of the night before.

So true. I think if I were a landscape designer I would spend over half of my time searching out nature’s designs so I could use elements of them.

It seems as though nature has an especially good time decorating scenes in winter. I take that as an emphasis on what may be the most important season of all for us here in the northwest, the season that provides us our precious water for the rest of the year.

I found it interesting that the frost highlighted only a few of the plants and didn’t really cover the ground. Made some pretty scenes though.

Send your decorator this way, please. All we’re getting is rain. We did have a very foggy night last night but didn’t wake up to the beautiful sight you captured so vividly here. Instead, it’s more gray skies and rain. Can you tell I’m ready for some frosty stuff??? 🙂

We haven’t had rain, just a little snow. About a half inch last night, but lots of dark couds, threatening but not delivering. I did get to hike today on new unbroken snow though and that was a treat.

It has a lot of great scenery. I get out into the forests or along the river just about every day too, and so I get the chance to capture many of the scenes like this one that last for only minutes.
