You’re right, Jeff. So many natural setting are just awesome. I saw those Aspens from a distance and hiked toward them. When I got closer, the scene just framed itself.
I think the layers visible as the eye moves from front to back are wonderful. I find myself slowly moving through all five ending up in the aspens. Excellent composition.
Oh my…
Its incredible when the Lord provides such a perfect setting. Great capture. You really need to print this shot.

The timing was good. The Aspens have lost their leaves and the most of Larch haven’t yet dropped their needles.

Jack Frost was indeed active. I will post a few others later that show the frost on the firs a little better.

Those aspens stand out perfectly. The contrast is a real eye-opener.

The aspens really caught my attention. They could be seen for quite a distance.

My son and I discussed that; would we if there was a big bull on the other side of the water?

Yes, sometimes it can be colorful even in winter. I would have liked a little snow, but not to cover the grasses.

This is so another photo that looks like a painting. Love all the colors–from the silvers and golds to the purples and greens and browns.

It does, kateri. I can easily imagine an artist sitting there putting it on canvas. It would be a little cold, though.

Late fall at that. Last year at this time there was over a foot of snow there.
