There was a snow storm in western Montana yesterday and we’re planning a wood cutting trip this weekend, and so I made a brief exploratory trip to Siegel pass today with the Jeep to see if the road was passable (and to get a few shots of wildflowers). It was passable after I removed three trees that were across it (I only had to use my axe on one of them, which reminded me of the value of a chain saw) but it’s really, really difficult to photograph wildflowers that are under 4 inches of new, wet snow!
Once I arrived back down in the valley though, this colorful wild pea caught my eye.
