Sometimes it’s good to just burrow back into the brush and the rocks, under the trees, and enjoy the rain.

Kind of a wet day for a hike, but just right to poke around by the river.

It was dry and pleasant under the canopy of that tree. A very comfortable place to be.

Oh yes! I like rain…and snow…and sunshine…and all else we see in nature. And I love your photos, always! The perspective in this one is just perfect. I feel like I’m right there with you looking out at the beautiful view through the rain drops. And I have to agree with de Wets Wild, it would make a wonderful puzzle.

Something I like very much about living at this latitude is the distinct four seasons, each with its own characteristics, purpose and scenery.

The collection of colors here is remarkable. I suspect that the rain’s contributed to some of them, especially the lavender-gray of the rocks. In any event, it’s a different palette than many of your photos, and beautiful as can be. I do love a nice rain, and can imagine what an enjoyable time you had recording some of this one.

It was a little strange, feeling that I was photographing a scene not from a distance, but from within.

Capturing these color games is just terrific.
(But I know, you have a look for that!)
You can literally hear the silence, “nothingness” in nature, just the raindrops!
I would have liked to sit there as well.

Maybe birds and animals are seeking shelter together with you? Sometimes they do 🙂

They definitely do. I know that I share many of their secret places of shelter and try to do it respectfully.

Timing is everything. I was fortunate to pass by there at the right season for colored landscape and at the time when the light was just right. It was an awesome sight.

I love that too during spring or summer. Not so much this time of year when it is often freeing rain. Still, it’s nice to be outside and in the forest when it’s raining, and in the evening sitting by the fire.

Yes. I walked outside this weekend and I’m noticing hardly any critters out. Just winter birds. I know what that means!

A beautiful view from that protected nook under the tree! The sound of rain on leaf, forest floor or body of water is a comforting one. The staccato sound of rain on the metal roof is also one of my favorite rain sounds.
