  2. Good dog, Buster 😀

(Terry just loves washing the car/jeep etc).

Looks like a lovely day around your area too. Nice day here too, but scattered clouds and cool winds keep me indoors.

    • We are still plagued by the smoke that is present all over the northwest part of the country. It was fairly clear in that area when I stopped by. It was warm (by our standards), so that cool wind would have felt good. That was probably the last day with the temperature in the 80’s (F) that we will see now until next July.

  3. Given those skies and that scenery, I suspect Buster wasn’t the only happy one that day! You two make a good pair.

    • It was a pretty day, just at the start of fall. I was visiting my son who was working on a Forest Service road up there and just stopped by the lake while I was close. The bushes, especially huckleberry, are rapidly turning red already at elevations above 5,000 feet. It might turn out to be a pretty fall.

      • I hope it is pretty for you. It would be nice to have clear skies and vibrant colors after all the smoke and haze.

        • It will be pretty after we get some good rain to clear away the smoke. I ran into an area of heavy smoke today where they were doing a controlled burn in the area next to a fairly large fire already burning. I think they are using the burned area from the other fire as a border for their prescribed burn to get rid of some of the understory brush. There’s always something interesting going on once you get back away from the highways.

    • It will get prettier when some of the Larch above the lake turn yellow later. I’ll have to remember to return in another month.

    • I’ve lived with dogs for over 60 years and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in a house with light-colored carpeting or a vehicle with a delicate interior.

  6. He does look happy! I’m glad to see from the comments that your fire season seems to be nearly over. The scenery looks so beautiful. We’re getting touches of autumn too, leaves already falling.

    • The fire season isn’t quite over yet, but the temperatures have gone down to seasonal normals and we just need a good rain for a few days and it will be. It looks like a quick transition to fall this year.

  7. Dogs are amazing talented in decorating, be it as shining beauty among the colours of nature in a picture or as creative artists, doing “art brut” themselves. 🙂

  14. Hi Montucky, Wonderful looking dog. Yes, dogs do make quite big mud messes at times but we still love them. It has been a long time since we have had a pet dog. We were still in Southern Calif. the last time we had a dog. Have a great coming week and enjoy the doggie and your trails!
