Ooh, that is nice. Are the flowers delicate or are they waxy?
Comment by Val — June 17, 2018 @ 5:23 pm
They are not waxy, but not super delicate either. A rather durable design.

What a lovely flower and beautiful captured by you, Terry.

Thanks Vicki. These are very common and very plentiful and most folks don’t pay attention to them.

Really nice photo. It shows the stripes well. Pretty flowers.
Comment by Candice — June 17, 2018 @ 7:24 pm
Thanks Candice. Rather simple blossoms but they make the most of it.

We have that here too. It’s a very pretty flower. Those stripes are hard to get a good shot of but you did great!

I think they are pretty, but I’ll bet a lot of people just pass them by without pausing to look closly at the flowers because they are rather small.

Gorgeous. The background highlights its beauty.

Thanks! It’s a low growing shrub with lots of leaves. Very pretty plant!

Lovely! ‘Spreading Dogbane’ – I wonder what the story is behind that?!
Comment by Jo Woolf — June 20, 2018 @ 8:25 am
It’s toxic, but I don’t understand how that applies to its name. The plant really does spread though.

Lovely image … and pretty flowers. Sounds like it is on the move 🙂

Yes, it’s covering some territory. The shade from its leaves helps keep the ground from drying out too soon.

Not a bane to dogs, I hope.

I wondered if the name came from something like that, but Buster doesn’t show any reaction to it.
