When I take the camera out in that kind of weather I keep it inside my parka so it doesn’t get real cold. My dog and I got in our 5 miles today anyway.
What a beautiful place to walk. Hope it wasn’t too slippery on the road.
Sounds a bit cold though, I daresay you warm up with the hike.
(I always get very hot walking regardless of the season).
I love your road in every season, but this is just glorious. Off to the left, is that steam rising from water, or just low hanging mist/fog/cloud? I can’t quite remember if there’s a river down there. Both the blue and white are so cheering. Here? It’s 74, and I just got run in by rain again.
Beautiful and cold. When shooting photos in cold, I am always a little bit afraid how my camera resists cold. Until now – well. 🙂 Thank You for this beautiful shot.
I think the worst problem created for a camera by very cold temps is that there will be condensation on it and in it when you go back inside, and that’s a very bad thing. When it is as cold as it was when this photo was taken, I keep the camera inside my coat before and after taking a picture and also make sure that while it is inside my coat I don’t exert until I perspire.
Lovely scene

These cold days bring out the beauty of the sky and new snow.

As cold as that sounds to me now, I’ll bet I went sledding in weather like that when I was a kid. Makes for some sharp pictures, too. 🙂

I bet you did, and I did too. Here the kids are still out on a snow hill no matter how cold. Don’t know what happens in the cities though.

The frost on the trees and shrubs look so pretty, but the deer are probably unhappy about that.

I think the deer are hanging back in the timber until it warms up a bit. Can’t blame them.

Yup, as long as that shirt has a parka over it.

That’s cold! I doubt my camera would even function in that weather. I don’t usually try if it’s below ten above.

The very cold temperature becomes a small price to pay for the crisp and clear scenery on a morning like this!

Yes, it’s a little slippery, but this is winter after all. When dressed appropriately it’s a very pleasant walk.

You have such a beautiful walk, in all seasons. I am ready for spring, though. It’s been a long, cold winter.

After the last few sub-zero nights I’m ready for spring too. We have had plenty of cold spells this year!

Yes, the steam is rising above the Clark Fork River. Despite the rain that you are getting now, you climate appeals to me. Our high yesterday was 12.

After many nights of sub-zero temps, the river now is nearly covered with ice cakes floating down.

I know. When the Arctic air comes in here and the sun comes out the landscape just explodes with color.

They do indeed. I will go out in any weather to see a beautiful scene. And when the sky is blue like that I can’t make myself stay inside.
