Many of our trees are showing nice Autumn colors in the misty mornings, but the needles of the Western Larch are just beginning to turn gold.

The changing of the season brings new perspective and look to the same scene and that is one of the reasons why we enjoy it. thanks for sharing.

That looks like the perfect autumn road to me! We were up by Cornville a coupe days ago. We were just a little too early for the colors. They were starting but certainly not peaking.

Some of the foliage is in full color now and the rest is turning quickly. The western Larch will soon predominate in the fall colors.

I think you have far more masses of color and those beautiful reds and oranges too. Most of the forest trees here are pines, firs and hemlock though which don’t change. It will be prettier later when the larch finishes turning.

I can imagine a nice peaceful walk down that road surrounded by those lovely trees of color. So pretty! Our fall colors haven’t been that great here this year. And a big rain/wind storm has already knocked off a lot of leaves. 😦

The leaves are falling fast here too now. The forests are green though because over 90% of the trees are pine or fir. The black cottonwoods haven’t completely turned color yet though so there will be more color coming up.

I like the mix of colors. The larches can be dramatic, especially mixed in with conifers, but this looks to me like a perfect autumn morning.
We’re still predominately green, but some berries and late flowers are adding a little color. Tomorrow? A front’s projected, and next week there are going to be lows in the 50s. Last week, we hit about 63 for a low, and some people on their morning walks were bundled up in sweat pants and sweat shirts — with the occasional wool scarf. I don’t know if they were truly cold, or just trying to push the season a bit!

From here it’s a little humerus to see someone cold at 63. We won’t see a temperature that high for at least 5 months.

Hi Montucky, I sure miss the spectacular fall color display of the hardwood forests. We get a little of that here in FL but it is mostly in the Northern part. Your photos are just devine! Have a great day.

A road that winds into the fog begs the viewer to see where it goes, all the time walking through a palette of soft colours. Lovely.

It’s nice to enjoy the fall colors and the mist now. Soon there will be blowing snow and ice on that road and many of the trees will be bare.
