Montana Outdoors
There’s something cuddly about rabbits with that super soft fur. I hope I never get hungry enough to have to think of them as food.

They are sure cute. I like to see them around and there are a couple here that will let me get quite close: they know I am safe for them. Buster knows now that they are to be treated like friends and will not bother them.

I don’t think I could ever teach our dogs not to chase a rabbit. They go crazy when they see one.

It was very east with Buster, but I think it would have been impossible with two dogs.

I live in a pretty natural environment and I try to do as little as possible to change that for the animals. It’s their world too.

Adorable bunny, I miss seeing them, after a bunch of houses were built, all the bunnies and Meadow Lark went away. Do have squirrels finally, they are so cute eating sunflower seeds from bird seeds. Thank you for all the beauty you share with us. Hope the fires do not take it all away. I share with my friend in Kalispell. He usually says nice place to fish or beautiful scenery and he has been there. He enjoys the photos also. Maybe next spring you can take photos of bunnies and babies. 🙂

Thank you for commenting Marcia! There were baby bunnies here this spring but I didn’t get around to taking pictures of them. I think this was one of them then.

We have many rabbits here and I see them regularly but not many will pose like your friend did.
I’m sure it will appreciate that tarp!

I’m sure there will be more than one in that shelter. It will have plenty of room. This is a good year for rabbits here. I’ve seen more snowshoes than I’ve ever seen this summer.

I hope he has a food source too. If not, maybe your larder will extend to furry friends (as well as avian visitors).
By co-incidence I saw 3 rabbits in the local boatyard on Sunday and they will appear (briefly) in the next post from me – such an extraordinary sighting (nearly as good as seeing a fox next to the Botanic Gardens one morning – his ancestors must have come over from the UK in the 1830s. Neither are indigenous).

The resident rabbits have a plentiful supply of clover in summer and in winter after a heavy snow I run the snowblower over parts of the lawn so the critters can get down to the grass more easily.

Every now and then I’ll see a rabbit at one of our nature centers, or even at one of the marinas that has a nice pond with great cover around it. They are the sweetest things, although I’m fond of the jackrabbits, too. They’ve got a bit more attitude, and of course have amazing speed, though I have to travel west to see them. I’m glad that this one will have a place of shelter for the winter.

He reminds me of the two little ‘friends’ at my sister’s home. They stay very close to her home and visit my brother-in-law’s racing pigeons.
