Midsummer rainbow

Mid summer rainbow

When a search of my archives produced the photo of the weevil in my previous post, it showed this photo right next to it, taken on the previous day. I’m sure hoping for some weather like that to visit us again soon!

    • I love weather events and try to get out in them whenever I can: this time the rainbow was a bonus.

  4. A double rainbow! That means two pots of gold for you, if you can find them.

  5. The golden fields and the dark, hanging clouds complement the bows beautifully. It’s always better to see a rainbow in its entirety, out in nature, rather than having buildings and such involved in the view — although I’ll never turn away from a rainbow, whatever the conditions.

    • I agree. This was taken from my driveway and I never stop loving that view: the rainbow was a nice addition.

    • There is a lot of contrast in the weather in the photo. That’s one of the things that I love about most of the summer storms that come through.

  7. Can you imagine watching that majestic scenery while there’s is almost no sound at all? Gigantic, majestic, yet perfect peace and quietness! I’d be standing in awe with my mouth open … The photo certainly gives you the feeling that you are actually … there!

    • That’s one of the reasons why I love living here. Natural beauty without all of the hustle and bustle and societal distractions.

  9. Wow, even a double! Prettier than the weevil, in my opinion.

    • I has just moderated a bit. We’re still in the high 80’s, low 90’s, and the small storms that have come our way have started a whole bunch of fires.

  11. Ah, a rainbow, such a gorgeous sight to see. You captured this one well! Hoping you get some rain soon and maybe a rainbow to go along with it.

    • Thanks. We really need some rain right now, but this is always the hottest and driest part of the year here. There have been a few small thunderstorms, but they have brought no rain and the lightning along with the storms has started dozens of fires.

    • That was a very good opportunity, and the setting wasn’t all that bad either. Nearly all of my photos are the product of just happening to be in the right place at the right time.
