On today’s hike in the Patrick’s Knob roadless area the forest was so hot and dry there were very few flowers in bloom. These seemed to enjoy that condition.

Yes, they are really pretty and seem to tolerate a wide variety of weather. The shape is very attractive.

Yes, it was just two weeks ago when I turned around on a hike because of deep snow. Of course, that was in a different mountain range and a little higher elevation.

I love their blue color. I grow something very similar in the garden. It’s a nice big flower, easy to shoot!
