That thought has crossed my mind and I would love to do that, but I doubt if I can get up the road to the trail head. The snow is pretty deep up there.
Oh, dear. Condolences to you both — having to take a pause because of a paw’s no fun, I’m sure. Cold and clear sounds good. When we have a blue norther, that’s exactly what we get: a drop in humidity, clearing skies, and a chance for even city dwellers to see the stars (at least, the bright ones). I smiled at the different textures on the mountain. If all that was brown instead of white, it would look like a bison that has started its spring shedding — the raggedy old hair giving way to those patches of smooth, soft fur. As it is, it looks like winter. It’s good to hear that there are feet of now up there, too.
My friend will be fine. He is so attached to me that he always stays close, no matter where I am. That makes it quite easy to see that he doesn’t disturb the bandage.
Winter here is a very beautiful path to follow on the way to spring.
He is healing well, thanks! It’s cold here at least for tonight and tomorrow night. The temp right now is Zero and headed for -11 the Weather Service says.
Yes, it’s relative. At least the dip below freezing here from last night into this morning caused frostweed to do its magic ice trick. I expect a repeat tomorrow morning. We’ll never have anything like what’s in your picture.
we sure did have cold spells, is that three now? but those clear skies, they are so beautiful, as is your photo.
lovely holidays and happy solstice to you~
Thanks Steve! Merry Christmas to you too! Yes, it’s white this year. About a foot and a half of snow on the round including about 6 inches that came down last night.
What amazingly clear blue skies. Wish our winters looked like that.

We are supposed to see -8F Friday night, then a return to seasonal norms.

Absolutely beautiful! The snow on the mountains and trees almost looks like a hoar frost, but I’m sure there is much more than a trimming.

Yes, there’s probably several feet up there at the least. The snow has been really good to have and very pretty.
I hope everything’s well with you and your family!

There’s nothing quite like that clear winter blue.
I’ll bet the ice is growing quickly now!

I bet it is too. For the next ten days I’ll have to be nursing dog who has a cut on his paw, from out last outing, but after that I’ll go check.

That crisp air feels so good! When it’s that cold there is hardly any humidity and it doesn’t feel as cold as the thermometer would say it is.

Hi Montucky, I sure can see why the mountain was named such. Have a wonderful coming week. Stay warm and enjoy your beautiful locale.

I hope you have a good week too. Our very cold temperatures have abated a bit, at least for awhile hopefully for at least through Christmas.

Looks like Mt. Baldy’s got some fluffy white hair there.
We’re emulating you (a little) with the temperature in Austin predicted to drop to 26° in the overnight.

There’s a lot more snow on the mountain now. It was -7 here last night and -14 the night before: 26 sounds really good at the moment!

It has warmed up here the last couple days, but we are still flirting with that cold air mass. A little break from it has been very welcome though!
