In the rain

Apple blossoms

This evening, in the rain,

I took a lonely walk up the road;

where I encountered a little tree,

a volunteer that bears the sweetest fruit around.

She shared her blossoms with me…

and I am content.

  4. I love how flowers can move us so. I’m glad that new knee lets you still get out there to see them.

    • Flowers always alter my mood and bring joy, especially wildflowers. I’m very happy with the titanium knee: it now has about 3500 miles on it.

  10. Your words are as sweet as the fruit on your little volunteer. It’s a tender, touching poem — just right for a rainy spring day, and just right to create a sense of contentment.
