Montana Outdoors
Now, that is a backyard I could live with. What a joy it must be to have such beauty at hand. It’s just lovely. I presume that, as the seasons develop, you see different flowers there, too.

That, like most of the place, is low maintenance, planted and maintained only by Nature and Her creatures. I have cleared areas around the house, enough to make it defensible from wildfire, that I mow and flower beds that I try to keep up with. When we bought it, it was a property consisting of about 6 acres that nobody else wanted, but which has developed into a very pleasant place in which to live.

Yes, it is that. It is a refuge from the frenzied pace that most city dwellers seem to have created for themselves. I enjoy spending my time in the surrounding mountains and forests and the wilderness areas, but I always love to return home too.

LOL. I like gardening but I’ve come to realize that nature’s own landscaping is the best. Up in the area of our local skihill the vegetation is different because of the altitude. Plants are scrubbier and more stunted, but the colour and the way the plants complement each other is just perfect. Mosses, lichens, pearly everlasting, some low-growing red-leafed shrub – it all fit together beautifully, with rocks sticking out here and there.

I’ve seen a lot of very good landscaping done in various parts of the country, but really, nothing can compare to what Nature provides.. untouched.

The balsam root make it as pretty as any garden! I’d be very happy with it as my back yard.

Such a wonderful blend of natural landscape and splashes of colour to brighten up your day. I could live with that all year round.

That’s the way I feel about it. About 80% of the place here has remained untouched and I’m glad we left it that way.

Nature has provided you a lovely back yard. I envy you with your natural homestead, Montucky! When we bought our property it had been a farmer’s field for many, many years. So the only natural landscape here was overgrown brush and weeds (and not pretty ones either!) and no trees. Even the treeline that separates our property from the farmer fields behind us is populated only with thick overgrown ugly brush. Not a pleasant sight like you have.

That sounds like a lot of work, but over time, nature’s resilience and your hard work it can be beautiful again. I was lucky in that most of my place had never been touched.

It is. And deer and other wild critters at times. It’s nice too that I don’t have to do any maintenance on it!
