Montana Outdoors 
I remembered the yellow bells. There’s something about yellow that always shines, no matter its surroundings. It’s good to see that you’re getting some spring, too. It coming on with a vengeance here, now. Last week’s rain seems to have encouraged everything.

We have had many rainy days here too and there was some snow this morning (these little flowers have a cover of white). But that’s all part of our spring. I love the dramatic changes during March!

The early ones are all delicate: perhaps somehow that’s part of their survival strategy through the many weather changes this early in the year.

Those first flowers seem to be extra precious – a hopeful sign that winter will soon be gone.

They are precious. I have noticed that those first wildflowers stay very close to the same schedule every year, changed only when there is a significant amount of snow on the ground as there was this time of March of 2014. They seem to provide reassurance that the world will awaken from winter’s sleep and begin life again.

It’s nice to see flowers. Spring is happening a little faster there this year. We had snow showers yesterday but the maples are flowering and there are crocus and snowdrops to be seen, so spring is coming.

They certainly do! Later as spring develops, they will greatly brighten up the mountain trails and hillsides. I think their purpose, at least in part, is to provide joy.

They seem to want to bloom at the same time each year regardless of the weather (unless there is a foot of snow over them).

I see the species name for yellow bells is pudica, which means shy or modest. I guess that’s because the flowers open downward.
