The color in this sunrise was deeper than the sunsets when we had all that smoke. Perhaps there were more particles in the inversion layer than I thought.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a deep purple, except one morning down at the coast. We’ll get oranges and reds that are that vibrant, but this is something special. It’s a wonderful set of photos. The photo with the trees reflecting in the orange water is my favorite.
They have been very pleasant, but I’m afraid they are over for this year. This morning we have a light, cold rain and clouds nearly down to the valley floor.
Was the rest of the day beautiful and clear, or was there some sort of storm?
I remember, when I had a sailboat, I would often hear the saying “red sky in the morning, sailor take warning.”
Only this sky appears to be purple, blue, orange, and yellow–not red!
So I am interested in how the rest of the day appeared.
Wow! Only in Montana!!

This fall I’ve seen more colorful sunrises than I have for many years. They have been wonderful!

I think that Nature makes up for some of Her deep sorrows with scenes of Her great beauty.

It’s hard to believe that photo of this sunrise and the one in my previous post of the window in the clouds were taken only 2 days apart.

It was the most striking one I’ve ever seen, although a few in the Arizona desert came close.

The morning clouds cleared before noon and it was a bright sunny day, which was much appreciated because it has been raining ever since.

I love them – gorgeous. I’ll start recovering from the surgery, which I had last week. Nothing special, but it slowed down life.
