It was that kind of day.

  1. Very dramatic sky. Those sidehills look darned chilly.

    • Yes, it was cold! The mountain above the clouds was pure white, the temp was about 5º F and the wind was blowing. Great weather for photos!

  3. What a stunning shot.
That dark cloud creates so much drama in the frame.
Not sure I’d want to be out in a downpour from that though.

    • The clouds look dark, but the only thing that would come from them is snow. I was hoping it would come but it didn’t that morning.

  4. This scene reminds me of the old hymn “Morning Has Broken.” Cat Stevens did a good version of it.

  5. The cloud is dramatic, but my favorite aspect of the photo is the way the folds of the mountains are revealed. It’s subtle, but so effective, and it adds so much to the image.

  6. Wow, what a dramatic shot, Montucky! Spectacular! We got a little dusting of snow last night, not much but it’s a start.

    • The weather here is still dancing around on the edge of winter. We did have a week of cold Arctic air, but now Pacific air is replacing it and it is getting unseasonably warm.

  7. I think the words magical and Montana belong together! You have such stunning landscapes there and such contrasting weather to us. I love my own country but I really hope to see some of your state too one day.

    • I hope you can see this some day too Jane. I know you would love it once you got used to it a bit. The dramatic contrasts are there, you just have to be outside to see and enjoy them.

  8. Love the tones in this! We have seen so little of the sun ourselves – seems to be endless rain and gales at present.

    • Our weather has included just about everything this past week, including a couple of nice sunrises, wind freezing rain and night temps around 0º F. The little bit of sun in the window was very pretty to see.
