The wind can be a problem with close-up photography.

Yesterday, I came across this, from Albert Camus: “Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower.” I’d say you just proved his point. They’re all beautiful.

I hadn’t seen that quote from Camus, but he put it very well. The colors are vivid and bright, and the leaves, once brown, are very valuable to the earth.

Couldn’t resist trying to get some of the vivid colors before they all fade. There was a trace on snow on the mountain tops.

So far the snow is only at the higher elevations. Looks like above about 5000 feet. You’re right, it would be gorgeous against the colorful leaves!

It’s Red-osier Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera) I believe. Its flowers and leaves are pretty in the spring too.

Hi Montucky, It is so beautiful this time of year in the woods! Even though we do not have quite the chill in our air, we do have hardwoods here in Central and Northern Florida. We have some spots that are now getting golden, red, and orange foliage. Have a happy day tomorrow!

Some are especially nice because they have flowers in the spring, beautiful green leaves in summer and bright colors in the fall!

Those are pretty in at least three seasons, and in the fourth their fruit will feed the birds and other small creatures.

I see that hillside every day, and it can be unnoticed because the much larger display of the trees, but the leaves of the lower growing shrubs is also very colorful.
