It has been a very strange one this year. Maybe because of the extra mild winter spring didn’t seem to have the contrast in weather that I’ve been used to.

They are fairly common, but in this area I’ve found that they are not widespread as some other flowers are, occurring only in specific places.

I’ve been on some combined walking trails in forests where I’ve thought it would be lovely to explore them on a bike. I don’t have the right bike at the moment. Mine has unsuitable wheels and tyres. It looks like a lot of fun. It’s great that you are able to get out and enjoy such lovely weather after a very long winter. Very pretty wildflowers once again.

I really enjoy taking the bike and it extends my range. My favorite kind of trails, the old pack trails, are not suitable for riding, but in many places I’ve been to ride an old road that is closed to motorized travel but allows mountain bikes and get 5 to 10 miles closer to a trail on which I want to hike.

Oh, yes! I’ve also been looking forward to my bike trips! A few days ago I went to the sea and back, by bike. It was wonderful to have breakfast on the shore, and also enjoy the beautiful flowers and colors ❤ Have a lovely day!

Bikes certainly have a place for those of us who love the outdoors. I doubt that I would get much use out of one if I were in a large city, but the back roads of a rural area are very pleasant to ride, and of course here we have old logging roads that go into the forests. I can imagine how nice it would be to ride in a coastal area!

The advantage of living in NL is that no matter where you want to go, city or rural areas, there are bike paths everywhere. I so love this. Gives me so much freedom 🙂 Cycling by the sea is always amazing ❤

The new knee must be back at 100%! That blossom looks a lot like ours except for the anthers and the notch at the end of each petal. The leaves are also more pointed. They’re pretty little things!

Yes, my knee has completely recovered. It enables me to go and do anything that my general fitness and strength permits and for that I am thankful beyond what words can describe.

In many ways this area is similar to parts of northern Arizona (thinking for the moment about the area up around Mormon Lake, although that is much higher in elevation). I thought perhaps Springbeauties would be native there, but the USDA Plant site shows that it isn’t. Riding or hiking through any of this area is very pretty, especially before the heat of summer hits.
