    • That scene was just over a quarter of a mile away, but luckily the camera was able to catch the light on those trees, and that’s very close to the scene that I remember seeing.

    • You know, I think Nature tries to teach me something by showing a scene that I see every day in a different fashion.

    • Thanks Linda. Many of my favorite winter elements were present in that place all at once. I have lived in this same place for over 20 years now and I see that place every day, but this was the first time I got to see it like that. This planet is amazing!

  8. Montucky, thanks for a wonderful year of Thompson River area photos. We have a cabin in the little Thompson so we love checking in on the Thompson through your photos when we can’t be there. Merry Christmas…hope to see many more awesome photos in the new year.

    • It’s a part of winter that isn’t seen too often, but it does have its own beauty. Like a dream, the mood lasted only seconds.

    • There are several elements at work there. Heavy fog during the night froze on those tree tops and when the picture was taken there was still some of the fog in the air and it was mixing with steam that was rising from the river.

    • I love the fog too. Partly because it seems to emphasize what it wants you to see.
