The way the raindrops are sitting on the surface, it’s clear how smooth and “tight” it is. The shark image is so cute — looking at mushrooms in your world’s like looking at clouds. Most of the time, we only get fairy ring mushrooms in the lawns. It takes a trip to the woods to find some variety. As for the lemon meringue — if I could get my meringues to look that good, I’d be happy!
Yes, these are quite dense, and very plentiful in the deep canyon where the sun is only a casual visitor. The forest there is old growth too, which provides lots of dead trees for fungi sustenance.

I love the sense of humor…There is just not enough whimsy in the world.

You are right. We are lacking in humor, particularly the simple, gentle kind.

I wonder if they’re sweating or dew covered. I’m beginning to think that mushrooms can take on just about any shape imaginable.

I’m not sure if that was dew or perhaps a short local rain. Either way there seemed to be a lot of water drops on them!

Mushrooms are fascinating “creatures.” Your photos make me think I can reach out and touch them. Wonderful.

They sure are. There are so many species and all shapes and sizes. These are quite large ones, about the size of dinner plates.

The first one kind of tickled me, not so much when I first saw it, but when I processed the photo.

It sure does look like a shark but I bet it doesn’t taste like lemon meringue nor would you want to try it.

I don’t know if that one is edible or not, but I’d bet it wouldn’t taste like meringue!

It does look like a creature. The imagination dictates which one.
