The only real issue with the snowblower for me is to keep the ice from packing so deep on the driveway and sometimes clearing the are down by the mailboxes for the mail lady.
You are wondering about summer and we’ve been wondering about winter. That’s so interesting! Our weather is warming up though and I think that snow will be gone in a few days. There will be more.
The photo was taken in an area that was a little sheltered. We actually had 6 – 8 inches of very dry, light stuff. The blower was the result of getting older. Last year I think I used it only twice. This year should be better. One of the towns not too far away had 16 inches out of that storm.
Yay, you got some of the white stuff! It looks grand. We just keep getting enough to maintain white ground cover. I do hope it sticks around for Christmas.
Actually, that building is a garage that was built in the 1940’s and I now use it as a sort of shop and storage for power equipment.
Back in the 40’s, highway guard rails were made of several thicknesses of wood bolted together, 2 X 8’s mostly. When they were replaced with steel, the state let anyone salvage the wood from the old guard rails. That building was built from them as we a large number of garages, hay sheds, barns, etc.
I have a lot of memories concerning that garage. One of my uncles built it. On day in late fall he had killed a deer and it was hanging in the garage to cool. Inadvertently he left a back window open and the next morning when he went into the garage there was a Canadian Lynx lying there just below where the deer was hanging. It left through the window and he left through the door through which he had entered.
It looks so beautiful with the fresh snow! We’re heading to Florida just before Christmas…..I think we should have chosen Montana instead! Can’t remember the last time I’ve spent a white Christmas…
This snow will be gone in a week or so but hopefully there will be more before Christmas and there certainly will be plenty of snow at the ski areas if not in the valleys. The closest ski area to here (35 air miles away) has 44 inches at the top. Bu Christmas there will be twice that much.
I loved to see Your home. Here in Mikkeli, Finland we have full winter. It has been very cold, now it is warm and the Lake Saimaa has got water on its ice cover. What is odd is that we got three storms already. Just now we have the third storm.
What odd weather for you, but it appears that ours will be similar. We have had about a week of sub-zero (F) night time temperatures and now we expect a week or so of above freezing. Well, it will change again, I’m sure. The surprise and the joy of winter!
That first snow is so wonderful. Then after a week or two….

I know what you mean, but unless another front moves in, this snow will be gone within a week.

We got a little this week too, but not enough to bother with the snowblower.

So pretty – and so much better than the “cobblestone ice” my friends in Dallas & etc. got last week. The best news is you can lean on the snowblower!

I really feel for the folks who have had to contend with that ice! That is nasty stuff!
The snowblower made walking easy this morning. I was surprised.

The snow looks wonderful (and so does that snowblower).
(we actually got a bit of sun about 30 minutes ago, but it’s gone now. Wonder when we’ll get the REAL summer here in Melbourne?).

That looks beautiful! Your ‘falling snow’ is the finishing touch! We have had none to speak of yet but I am sure it is going to change!

I have seen that scene ever since childhood, when those old outbuilding were built, so It’s special to me.

It sure is. We were very lucky to acquire this little piece of property. It was the last piece of a ranch my grandparents bought in the 1920’s.

Thanks Mike! I’m anxious for when it can be fixed. I hope that happens before I lose all of the conditioning that I work so hard for!

Looks like you got 3 or 4 inches. I wish I had that snowblower-they say we might see a foot this weekend.

Your house looks so pretty in the snow, all cozy. The WP snowflakes look nice coming down on it, too.
