    • We had so few clouds during July, it has been a delight to have some come in now. Even a little rain!

    • Yes, Autumn is on its way here too. We had a cold a long spring then summer came suddenly. It may end that way as well.

  5. Beautiful! Other than clouds, there isn’t much that could make your mountains look small.

    • That’s true! The taller mountains in the photo rise nearly a mile above the valley.

  10. Skies can be so dramatic. Getting them to come out right on photos is still a challenge for me so I admire this one.

    • They held a thunder storm. It passed by us to the east, but later more of the same kind came over and produced some very good rain.

  14. Hi Montucky, Great thinking for your caption. Yes, a fiery sunset reflection on the white clouds above the peaks does make the mountains look like a model diorama. Have a great Wed. tomorrow!

  18. Not only are the clouds and the colors gorgeous, the infinite variety of sunsets (and sunrises) is a true wonder. No matter what, even in the midst of the most settled weather, no sunset ever is the same as another.

  19. Those magnificent clouds have a way of doing that, don’t they? I love the clouds over the mountains…and it’s wonderful to watch them roll in on an afternoon when out there in the canyons and up on the mountain sides…they’re so much closer, it seems…so much more alive. Beautiful shot, Terry.
