We live in a parallell world, Montucky. These flowers will flower here too very soon. And your landscapes are not that different, even so far apart. Nice photo.
This is the time of year when I used to love to hike up to the Alpine meadows outside Salt Lake City in the Wasatch. It wasn’t so isolated as this, and there weren’t any elk that I know of, but the little lakes were so pretty, and there always was an abundance of flowers. All the layers here are so nice – flowers, foothills, peaks, clouds. It’s a beautiful place.
This is the time for the mountains. The abundance there is awesome this time of year. I would love to spend some time in the Wasatch mountains too. I’ve seen them only from a distance. I also loved the Sonoran desert in winter. Wish I could live in both worlds.
That is exactly what I hope for Teresa, and why I always carry a camera. Each time I venture into an area I wonder if it will be the last and I want to bring back images of the beauty there.
Thanks for the visit! There are not all that many keeping blogs in this area I don’t think. I’ll add you to the blogs I follow.
I live in the Plains area, about 80 miles NW of Missoula. There is a lot of good hiking out this way.
There is a woman who lives up in the Kalispell area who produces a very excellent blog too that you might enjoy: Spirithelpers.
That photo could have been taken from where i live … The flowers, Cahamerion Angustifolium or Fireweed is a common flower here from this time of year and until autumn …
Just love your beautiful landscape ! // Maria 🙂
Yes, fireweed is very pretty. So many times I’ve seen it as the first flower to bloom after a fire and it’s such a welcome sight in those places. It seems to be early this year though.
Nice meadow on a nice day.

It was a good place to be on a hot day; complete with a few bushes of ripe huckleberries.

The similarities of our regions are fascinating! Perhaps too because we have a similar passion for Nature’s beauty.

The mountains are celebrating summer because they know in a little over two months they will see the first snow.

Did you treat yourself to some of the huckleberries the way I do when I encounter ripe dewberries?

You bet! There were only a few bushes with ripe fruit, so I brought back just enough to put on a few bowls of ice cream.
