Christmas morning, 2012
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very happy New Year to all!
Thank you everyone for visiting Montana Outdoors this past year. Your visits, your comments and the blogs that many of you maintain mean a lot to me and have, during some very trying times, been a constant reminder that there are still many wonderful people all over this world.

We certainly have been granted a beautiful place to live. I wish that more people could turn toward it. The wild country gives a perspective to be known no other way.

Merry Christmas! What a beautiful road to travel, the one in the image and the one we all travel together here. It makes the world a better place.

So beautiful! The images you share with us of your world are so varied and so interesting, it’s no wonder we all keep coming back! It is a wonderful world, filled with fine people – places like yours serve as a constant reminder of that fact. Merry Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year!

It’s amazing, isn’t it, that it’s possible to find other folks across our country and across the world who are so different from each other, and yet who share so many of the same values of life. It certainly displays a more optimistic picture of human society than it is possible to get in other ways.

What a perfect Christmas photo. We were lucky to have a bit of snow today too – just enough to make it feel like Christmas but not enough to kill the birds that are scratching for their Christmas dinner out there. Looking forward to more lovely photos of Montana in the New Year.

Our forecast for today included snow and cloudy skies along with some low temperatures. We did get a little snow during the night, but then the sun came out for a few hours and really brightened up the world with blue sky and pure white snow.

And the same to you up there in the land of real winter.
By the way, I recently bought a book of poetry that was discarded by the library in Bitterroot. Is that near you?

It looks as though winter has now begun here again. I’m happy about that.
I think that library is located in the small town of Hamilton (population of just a little over 4,000), about 130 miles south of here. It is in the middle of the Bitterroot river drainage, a very beautiful area!
