  1. Wow. I Love this. That road is so enticing and the shroud of clouds, the colors, really wonderful.

    • I wish I could have been there when that tree was young and there was no road beside it. I know what the fishing would have been like back then: I remember it was still good in the late 40’s. I can only imagine the wildlife that was there then too. I still see deer, elk and moose with some frequency along the river, once in awhile a bear. It has changed.

    • It’s wonderful to see the seasons change here. I really haven’t done a very good job of photographing the change this fall for a number of reasons, but I hope to get back to doing that again soon.

    • That is certainly a big part of the allure of Montana. What the photo doesn’t show is that a few hours before and about 25 miles away I was driving over a back road divide in about 8 inches of new snow. Who knows what that sky will being at any given time!

    • Thank you! I have been trying to figure out what I will do with some of my photos but I’m not really happy with anything yet. Before I do much of anything though I have promised a wildflower site that I would let them use my wildflower photos and that will be a large project for me this winter.

  31. I used to follow my Dad around while he fished up and down the Thompson River. My Mother and Grandparents lived in Snider and our vacations were spent at Thompson Lakes or Fishtrap lake. You pictures bridge the gap until the Summer when I return with my family.
