The leaves are starting to develop their fall colors quite rapidly now. This small scene was on the hillside above the Todd Creek trail at about 5,000 feet yesterday. It will be exhilarating to try to keep up with the bursts of color!
I got a few shots today, but not far from the highway. I’m hoping that tomorrow’s hunting trip will yield some good fall colors, too: the area where I’m going usually does.
Yes, the pines and firs are deep green. The tree in the center is larch and it is just beginning to turn color. It will turn bright yellow and then lose its needles for the winter.
Gorgeous! Hopefully you can get a few fall-color outings in before everything’s covered in snow. It’s my favorite time of year.

I like how the pine (?) has retained its green brilliance in the background.

That is a very nice start to the foliage. The red is brilliant.

It’s changing very rapidly now, especially the aspens and cottonwoods. The larch are just beginning.

My gracious, how very beautiful! I love the spray of colors along with the textures (movement). Surely delights the eye. 🙂

That was just a small spot on the mountainside above the trail, but it looked as though it had been designed. I thought it very pretty.

I would have been proud to have put together a color arrangement like that.

The leaves are changing rapidly now and it is getting colorful. I hope I can catch some good examples of them and what fall can be like here!

It was a small scene, but very vivid once I noticed it. Every once in awhile I see scenes that look as though they were thoughtfully created.

Will you go back to recapture this lovely scene when the larch has turned golden, Montucky?
Just lovely!

I’ve thought about that, but I probably won’t make it back up there again this year. That sure would be pretty though!

Gorgeous colors!! We’re not getting such vivid colors this year. It’s great to see that you have them in your part of the country!

We are having a very colorful fall this year after practically none last year. It’s so good to see it again!
