awwww. We’ve been seeing fawns since the first week of June. Yours is a very late fawn, I think.

Yes. I think they understand that this is a safe place for them and there is plenty of thick cover just west of our house. They are in our yard just about every day.

Well, we’re getting along with them better since I screened off the garden and we found a repellant that works pretty well for the flowers.

Babies in any species are beautiful. I think we see innocence when we look at them and long for its return. Beautiful shot of a beautiful fawn.

Love those cute babies. One of my visiting does had twins this year … but, she visits my yard about 9:30 pm, too dark for pictures in the woods. I wish they were morning visitors like they were last year … it was fun to watch them jump and play. I try to remember scenes like this when I find out that the deer have eaten my garden plants. 😉

The deer have been visiting here at night lately too, with the exception of this one. I haven’t figured out the variations in their schedule. I successfully screened off our garden this year, but they still go after some of the flowers. So far this year the damage has been minimal, I suppose because of the lush natural growth after all of our spring rains.

I didn’t see the doe, but I’m sure she was right there close. Deer like to just hang out in the thick brush in our little canyon where it’s shady and there is plenty to eat. Today there were two nice bucks browsing at the edge of it.

Awww, what a cute little guy! With all the deer we have, I am surprised we don’t see more fawns in the spring. He does look like he is posing and the light looks like it was perfect for the photo.

I’ve seen quite a few fawns this year, but also a lot of does without any. Yesterday two very pretty little bucks visited our yard.
