Montana Outdoors
Striking changes, Montucky. We’ve yet to have the white stuff, we’re down about 6 inches from normal. I hear it’s coming tomorrow. 🙂

I think you are about due for some snow Bo. I hope it will be the pretty kind and not accompanied but sub-zero temperatures! We are also expecting more snow tonight and tomorrow.

It’s so amazing how everything can change so much. I love the way you captured it from the same angle, it makes the change so much more jarring!!! 😦 Ah, I suppose winter must come some time…

When I took today’s photo I did not attempt to do it for comparison, but in looking back at previous photos I noticed that it was quite close. I found it an interesting change.

The snow effect is done by WordPress for the blogs that they host and we have the option of using it or not. I would guess there might be an application available somewhere else, but I don’t know where that might be. I’ve found some folks who don’t like the effect, but I do with all of the winter scenes we have in this area.

When I noticed these two photos in my files I was struck by the contrast of the two. Nature can change the scene without changing the scenery.

Now, wouldn’t life be boring if it didn’t change? Go back when the sun come out so you get the comparison under the same type of light. would like to see that comparison, too.

I may try to shoot that scene again with the next influx of Arctic air, but although that is a pleasant place to see it can be a very unpleasant place to get to.

Nice contrast between the two pictures. Now all you need to do is stand in that same place for rain, sleet, autumn leaves and chinooks.

There may be a time yet this winter when the snow will still be there along with the deep blue sky. I will try to get another shot if that happens.

That was a cold and snowy day, not unusual for that lake in winter. It can be beautiful though!

Both photos came as a side result of simply traveling by there. It took only a few minutes each time to capture the scene. Many folks see (and hopefully enjoy) such scenes and a few stop to capture an image, and I think we both know how satisfying that can be.
