When the spider left this web and went to wherever spiders of his species go to spend the winter I bet he didn’t think he would leave these snowflakes just hanging in air.
I just love your close-up shots. The colors and detail are just amazing. We had snow here (in Wisconsin) as well over the weekend. Winter came way too soon.
I’ve been watching your weather. We may have some of the same the next few days, most certainly in the higher mountains areas and very possibly in the valleys. I will enjoy the snow! What I really don’t like are those few days when the temperature hovers around freezing and the rain freezes on the roads.
Pretty neat!

How fantastic photo. Snow and autumn colors at background combined with a macro, it captures my regard and holds it for long time.

Magical detail. Amazing how strong the webs are..that they can actually carry the weight of ice and snow! Beautiful image!!!

Just the kind of thing I enjoy! You know that spider was an artist, and probably had this planned.

Thanks everyone for your comments! THe web caught my eye and I though perhaps other folks might like to see it too.
Sandy, I think you’re right: the spider left this piece of art and then went into a (hopefully) safe place for the winter.

I liked that the web itself was nearly invisible.

It was in the mid 20’s in the little draw where to web was. Plenty cold, but later in the afternoon it had melted.

We had about an inch in the valley, more at the high elevations. Hope you enjoy that first heavy snow that you’re having!

Nature seems to have a lot of pretty little things like that wherever one ventures.
