There are many such places near here. This on is about ten miles and a stiff hike from my home.

You earned that one! Looks like the weather and the view were worth the effort.

I always consider it worth the effort, Dave. The weather is now in between fall and winter. Cold rain, yet not cold enough for snow. Not my favorite kind of weather for the folks on the roads.

Wow! I feel lucky we get to benefit from your hard work climbing these mountains. Thank you!

Thanks for your kind words, Cait! There’s nearly always a nice scene to bring back, and the exercise is so good.

I think the hike was worth it, don’t you?

It was! I’m already planning another tomorrow in the rain. Time in the outdoors is so very precious!

Wow! So the steep hike looks like it was worth the effort.

That area holds a fascination for me. Partly, I’m sure, because of the steep slopes above the canyon.

Whew! Getting hikes in before the snow flys, Terry? The sky in this one is wild!
Comment by Scott Thomas Photography — November 8, 2010 @ 10:21 am
As much as possible, Scott! That was a storm front starting to move in.

Beautiful clouds! Must be so invigorating to hike so much in that cool mountain air.

It really is! On today’s hike there was a few snowflakes in the air and a light dusting on the ground. Perfect hiking weather!

I am wordless when seeing this photo. The sky is giving the feeling of coming storm?
Awesome photo.

Yes, that is the start of a storm front. It didn’t turn out to be a large storm, but began a change in the weather.
