This was a rather odd shot for a landscape. I was trying to get a decent photo of some huge horses beside the river when a little sun broke through the clouds and far upstream those trees just lit up.
Hi Montucky, The tree does really show the fantastic yellow gold color when hit by the sunlight. I love seeing pictures of Fall colors! Nature is exquisite!
Have a super day!
I hold the opinion that if one is outdoors enough the rewards are great. This was one of those rewards. I was trying to get some shots of horses when this scene appeared.
When this page loaded my mouth dropped to my ankles – this is incredibly phenomenal! WoWoWeee!

How very beautiful! This is my kind of shot with river. The yellow just glows.

That scene is near the confluence of the Clark Fork and Flathead rivers. Both can be very scenic.

The few sun rays that shone through seemed to put those trees in a spotlight. It’s exhilarating to be there when that happens!

More candles in the woods! Is that a cliff behind the trees? Isn’t this turning out to be a wonderful fall?

It has become a very pretty fall! Sure raises my spirits, going into winter!
Yes, there are some tall cliffs in the background. They are often frequented by Big Horn sheep.

The first and last are big guys. On the Bison range I expect them to get even larger yet, and I’m sure there are larger ones there.

Awesome fall photo. The rock at background is fortifying that yellow tree. I love this photo.

I like the rock there too. Sometimes it’s difficult to decide how to frame a photograph and which elements to include in it.

I’ve thought a little about that, as well as a couple of ideas for photos. Maybe during the winter, but then there will be snow shoeing…
