Perhaps my favorite photo from Mt Silcox is this one facing east up the Clark Fork river valley.

Oh, yeah. I understand very well why it is one of Your favorite photo. My eye is really resting when admiring this mighty landscape full of mountains, valleys, forests, blue sky with white clouds etc.
The good thing in this photo is that when at foreground there is branches of tree, they give to the photo some kind of 3D vision. Gorgeous shot!

It was nice to sit in the shade of those trees and just enjoy that view. My home is in that deep valley in the distance.

That air is fresh and cold too. That day there was a brisk wind at the top and I found a sheltered place just off the top where I could sit in the sun out of the wind for lunch.

That’s what I thought, Dave. I find I’m not as tired as I thought I was right after I get above the trees and these scenes start appearing. I really noticed that today on a very difficult hike.

Hard to pick a favorite of your recent photos,..but for me this one does rank near the top. I can feel my father’s presence as i look at that shot,… he was always saying he wanted to “see what was over the next hill…”

My Dad did too, Cedar, and he certainly passed that on to me. I’ve noticed now that my son and daughter have both inherited it too. I have wonderful memories of hikes like this with my Dad, going back into the late 40’s.

I found a way to get around your sidebar covering the picture.
Click in the picture and it goes to Flicker, then click on the plus at the top of the picture and you get a nice full picture. Rich

Thanks Rich. I may have to go back to posting smaller size photos. It isn’t a problem on my monitor because I can simply expand the size of the page and the photo fits exactly, but I’m realizing that not all computers/browsers do that.

Do you use a Mac?Perhaps the photo width is a Mac vs. PC thing.
Possibly I like it too because I have visited the top of many of those mountains at one time or other. They are like old friends.
