Montana Outdoors
Oh wow. Love those Showy Asters, and love the photo you took of them. If I recall, these are not a very large flower?

No, they are about the size of a dime. I like the clusters though, and they are blooming everywhere now, one of the last flowers to bloom. Today I hiked in the high country, about 6,000 feet and there are still Indian paintbrush and several other flowers still blooming at that elevation along with lots of these Asters.

These were on the river bank and this particular group just showed up as though there was a spotlight on them.

Asters are blooming here, too. I will post some tomorrow. That one looks like our Purple Stemmed one.
Do you get the dark purple ones they call New England aster here?

I see on USDA Plants that those grow here, but I’m not sure I can distinguish them from other types. I wish I had more training.
