    • It’s located on the north slope of the mountains where the forest is heavy and it stays pretty cool. There is cold water there all summer.

    • It’s just off the trail and with the thick vegetation, can easily be missed. I make a point of stopping when I hike that trail.

    • As all mountain springs do, this one attracts lots of birds, so there’s a lot to listen to besides the soft sound of the water. The slope is very steep below the trail and you can hear the little stream cascade down there too.

    • This is one of the greener places, but the whole north slope of those mountains a very green. Also heavily forested and very steep, the kind of country that we need so much for our watershed.
