Montana Outdoors
I couldn’t have passed it up. But then, I don’t even go out to garden without my camera.
Do you still have snow in the mountaintops?

I’ve gotten like that too. I spent much more time with the camera than I did fishing although I did catch the limit on that stream. After I hiked to it, the stream I wanted to fish was still too high but I found some flowers along it that were new to me.
There are some snow banks on all of the higher mountains and quite a bit left on the real tall ones on the north sides.

I’ve found that to get good butterfly shots you have to depend entirely on luck.

I think this butterfly was watching you rather closely. He doesn’t look too sure of you and appears apprehensive of your actions. Great capture.

There’s always time for both. I have some friends who really love little brook trout though and so I always try to catch a dozen or so for them. I prefer larger ones that we can cook on the grill.

I love this little daisy allowing a butterfly to rest for a bit! And an ant cooling itself in the shade under a petal! (or hiding from the b’fly!) You got a grand slam on this one! So sorry you didn’t get the fish….but in my eyes you definitely got a prize! 😉

That’s along a small stream that I have fished ever since in the 40’s. I go there now to bring back a dozen or so small brook trout for an old friend who loves to eat them but can no longer fish herself. On many trips though I end up with more photos than fish. It’s still a beautiful place and it hold lots of great memories for me.
