This fella has such a cute face! I usually try to avoid looking at the body of any insect, and with butterflies I enjoy only their colourful wings. But this one makes me almost want to stroke him.
I like the visitor, and the photograph, but that Vetch is my headache here! I just spent a good portion of the morning pulling Vetch out of my backyard at the shoreline. It is very pretty but quite invasive!
There’s a lot of pretty stuff around if you happen to get there at the right time! I tend to create a certain amount of luck by just being outdoors so much of the time.
I remember how the rivers in Arizona were so much in demand because of their scarcity and since then I’ve never taken one for granted. I’m really lucky here because the Clark Fork is a short walk from the house. You would love it!
Absolutely beautiful photo! I just found and added you on Flickr.

They do look “petable” with that fine fur and the big eyes.

He does look as though he is posing. It was a bit windy and I’ve found that wind will keep them almost anchored once they land.

That photo turned out beautifully. Love the fuzz on the wing edges.

I like those wing edges too. I wonder what the purpose of that is.

love the vetch color,… and the lacy moth enjoying a rest there makes the pic perfect!

The Vetch looks as though they were tie-dyed and I think the shades of color are attractive. That petal must be a comfortable place to sit.

I’ve read that Vetch can be a big headache, but I’ve never seen that much of it around here, mostly a few plants scattered around.

It looks so good against the dark background. That is a good shot of what I know is a tiny butterfly.

Yes he’s pretty small. It was very lucy that he stayed put so long and let me get that close (about 6 inches).

A very handsome fella this is. Almost looks like you did a selective color enhancement.
