High desert landscapes

There is some interesting and very pretty scenery in the border area of northern Arizona and southern Utah. Here are a few photos taken there last week when a small clearing occurred in the sky. On clear, sunny days the views there are very picturesque but on the day I traveled through the sky clouded up and was very drab. I was disappointed, but it couldn’t be helped. Maybe next time…

- Yes, there is much beauty in those rocky hills. I love the Montana mountains, but I love those desert hills too.

WoW! Look at those skies & rock formations – Fantastic shots! I remember views like these when I traveled thru northern Arizona – BEAUTIFUL country!!!

- It sure is beautiful country. When I lived there I spent hundreds of days exploring the desert and loved every second of it.

I love the simple beauty of the desert – well captured. The cloudy skies make it look comfortable, not quite so hot.

- The clouds were nice for the temperature, but didn’t help with the camera. THis is a great time of year to see that part of the country though.

- Scott, you would love a couple of the Parks near there, Bryce Canyon and Zion. They are a photographer’s paradise!

- It sure is, Bo! The shapes and colors and that they go on for so many miles. I think often of the Navajo who have always lived there.

- Most of the day was cloudy but it was lucky that when it cleared for a few minutes I happened to be in that particular area.

these photos look great. just the kind of place kids dream of cowboys and indians roaming. (and probably rattlesnakes too!) very interesting scenery

- I’m not sure about the cowboys, but the photos taken in northern Arizona were on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Rattlesnakes… a certainty, although I didn’t have the good fortune to encounter one.

Fantastic scenery. I love rocks and these are gorgeous. Especially I like the last photo.
