My ID’s are never a guarantee, Stacey, but I’d call this a Scouring-rush, (Equisetum hyemale) in the Horsetail family. It seems to grow everywhere in the US. This shot of it in the spring is unusual, I think. I looked at lots of sites without seeing a similar photo.

You know, in one of the other photos of this, the angle was slightly different and that eye has a pupil that looks like a cat’s eye.
